St Mary’s College Singers, locally known as the Parent’s Choir, was founded in November 2008, and has met in the Senior School every Wednesday evening during the school term from 7.30pm ever since! We sing at lots of school events including Masses, Christmas Carols Concerts, Graduations, Fundraisers and Spring Concerts.

Over the years we have grown and developed into a progressive choir, capable of accomplished, polished performances and winning prestigious awards from various Choral Festival Competitions. We have performed on the Abbey Theatre Stage, as well as the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for London's Southbank Choral Festival...We have opened Canalaphonic, sung a live TV ad in Arctic conditions from Dublin's Docklands during the snow of 2010, staged a summertime flashmob, performed at competitions nationwide, sung for countless residents of South Dublin's care homes, presented Christmas Carols from Farmleigh House, Powerscourt, St Stephen's Green, and played our own very special part in RTE's Reflecting the Rising programme at Easter 2016 We've had 14 very exciting years, but some of the most enjoyable and fulfilling performances have been the ones centred around the school life. We are proud and delighted to sing for the newest Form 2 students at their first Holy Communion Ceremony in May each year, and 2 weeks later for our graduating 6th Years. We have sung at so many joyful and happy occasions, but have also sung at some heartbreaking and devastating events.

These are the times that our very special bond is at its strongest, and we, more than any, understand the soothing power of music and how much it counts at the most difficult moments in life. We are very privileged to be part of such a wonderful choir and we welcome new singers with open arms. Obviously it's not easy being a new member of an established choir but we have a buddy system and do our utmost to support new members in their endeavours to find their groove. If you are interested in membership, please contact us and we will guide you through the application process which will include a vocal assessment.

A word of warning though...…Once you start, it’s very difficult to stop!
